Global Mobility Manager

The Global Mobility team seeks a strong manager to own design and delivery of key mobility initiatives to support Facebook’s broader people and business goals during rapid, global growth. The person in this role will work across all competency areas of relocation, immigration, and mobility tax to design and deliver key global and/or multi-competency projects and programs. They will be part of our Global Mobility leadership team and be expected to collaborate closely with the global competency leaders in the identification, selection, and planning for mutually agreed in-scope projects and programs. A successful candidate in this role will have impact by managing at both the hands-on and strategic levels. Examples of key in-scope work may include general project management and governance, certain location strategy or entity planning and scaling projects, technology implementation and management of continuous process improvements, building a more robust function-specific career development program, and partnering with key stakeholders to align Global Mobility functional goals to other individual, team, and company level goals and priorities. This role is critical to scale and grow the processes and systems to deliver an exceptional Facebook experience for our highly mobile workforce. This position reports to the Director, Global Mobility.

Global Mobility Manager Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in development, end-to-end planning, and execution of global initiatives around many aspects of technology, workflow automation, process improvement, entity setup, compliance and governance, data integrity, and program scale

  • Partner with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, most often managing several moving project or program parts simultaneously and often representing the Global Mobility team as a whole

  • Influence consultant and supplier relationships to align to in-scope projects

  • Own large scale, global, and/or multi-competency projects that change the ways of working, policies or programmatic offerings of the Global Mobility function

  • Anticipate, escalate, and resolve issues

  • Optimize the use of existing mobility and general HR and recruiting tools to enhance mobility experience and workflow

  • Offer expertise and guidance through mentorship to others on how to streamline their smaller, team or competency specific projects (i.e., work out of scope for core project manager) and spot alignment/synergies with other work across Global Mobility

  • Track project performance and analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals, then report progress to Global Mobility leadership and/or project sponsor.

  • Drive change management globally

  • Ensure that all team members have the required information and resources to carry out their tasks effectively and likewise gather feedback from team members and represent it to the project steering committee or external vendor.

  • Develop assessment processes for team and individual development

  • Document all tasks and dependencies and ensure progress on each to ensure no gaps.

  • Additional opportunities will be both self-identified and co-created with peers in Global Mobility leadership team, in alignment with team and company goals

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree

  • 12+ years of focused global mobility experience in multiple competency areas

  • Experience managing growth at scale

  • Understanding of mobility workflow and management technology and driving innovation

  • Significant project management experience

  • Ability to partner within a team environment to achieve goals

  • Experience working directly with business leaders with the ability to influence change

  • Ability to operate in a matrixed and constantly changing environment

  • Ability to create both polished executive level deliverables that tell a story as well as technical or process-centric materials

  • Available for domestic and international travel as needed (0-10% of time).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in corporate in-house mobility related positions as well as consulting/accounting firm experience

  • Experience managing processes within CRM or HRIS systems or related tools

  • Self-starter and fast learner requiring minimal directions
