Mission Control is the organization that plans and shapes Facebook’s evolving workforce. The Analytics team within Mission Control supports the TECH organization by building and scaling solutions that support our workforce planning and programs. We work with stakeholders from across the company to manage the headcount demand plan, tell the story of headcount progression, build resources to manage the flow of talent, and provide data driven insights into the health and development of our global programs. This is a people manager opportunity for the Analytics team within Mission Control. The manager will lead a team consisting of Data Analysts and Data Engineers who are responsible for developing and maintaining all of the analytics resources and data tools necessary to enable workforce management of our business. This position will work closely with peer managers in Mission Control as well as cross-functional teams. Teams include Finance, HR, Recruiting, Engineering and Product and the Executives in those organizations. This manager will be accountable to strategize, plan, and executive initiatives as it aligns with our broader Mission Control vision.

Manager, Mission Control Analytics Responsibilities

  • Manage a global team of 10+ Data Analysts and Data Engineers

  • Build a high performing team which includes hiring, onboarding, mentoring, developing and coaching for team members

  • Design and maintain scalable organization in an ambiguous and fast paced environment

  • Experience influencing the strategic vision and direction of workforce management from a data driven perspective

  • Develop roadmap to align with company priorities, identifying gaps, risks and communicating progress and shifts to Engineering leadership and partners

  • Manage biannual review cycle for direct reports, focusing on strengths based development and role alignment for team members

  • Build strong partnerships and collaboration with peers, planning and programs teams, and global business partners

  • Ability to understand, collaborate and influence across cross-functional organizations

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience as a People Manager and experience managing managers

  • 5+ years of experience leading others on analytical projects

  • 5+ years experience working as a data analyst, or similar role

  • 2+ years experience working in Workforce Planning, Recruiting Analytics or similar function

  • 5+ years experience with Tableau, SQL, Python, R, VBA, Excel, or other data manipulation tools

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and working autonomously in a fast-paced ambiguous environment

  • Experience influencing technical results to technical and non-technical audiences across all levels of an organization

  • Stakeholder management experience (Finance, HR, Recruiting, Engineering and Product and the Executives in those organizations)

  • Experience influencing technical and non-technical partners

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong experience with HRIS

  • 3+ years experience working internally (as opposed to consulting) in a medium to large organization (e.g., high-tech, financial services, healthcare, biotech, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of the application of statistics in business, such as forecasting, machine learning, causations and correlations

  • Openness to feedback and strong self-awareness

  • Exceptional discretion and judgment

  • Experience in development of a global team

  • BS/BA or above in a technical field

  • Track record in front-end and back end data management, specifically validating and improving quality and efficiency across multiple internal and third-party tools or systems

  • Experience leading People Analytics or Workforce Planning teams
