Description The EMEA Compliance specialist is an important member of the people operations team in Facebook and is responsible for working with the various teams in people operations to ensure we remain compliant. The successful candidate will have substantive experience working in the HR Compliance space with a strong analytical and operational background as well as interpersonal and project- management skills. This is a full time position, the role can be based in either our Dublin or London office.


  • Support the audit of HR policies and processes in people operations to ensure we remain compliant

  • Provide compliance expertise for a variety of HR policies and processes ensuring issues are raised, decisions are escalated and resolved effectively

  • Develop cross-functional partnerships and build trust with stakeholders throughout the organisation, as well as with internal and outside legal counsel with the ability to build consensus and manage change

  • Initiate and independently drive improvements, resolve issues, and manage stakeholder expectations

  • Identify gaps in HR compliance related knowledge and skills needed by managers and HR partners and recommend solutions to address those gaps (e.g., training, documentation, communication, etc.)

  • Interpret and apply HR policies, guidance, procedures and programs, ensuring consistent application while working with HR partners to provide solutions that consider business and employee needs

  • Increase awareness and compliance with regard to company policy and relevant employment laws through coaching, presentations, and training

  • Consult with strategic HR partner organisations such as HRBPs, LIfe@ and Accommodations to drive cross-functional alignment, compliance, and awareness


  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field

  • 5+ years experience working in compliance within HR

  • Broad understanding of all aspects of federal, local and municipal employment and human resources related laws and regulations, globally

  • Subject matter expertise in the employment related regulations, policies and practices in EMEA

  • Effective communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills

  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects with strong time management and prioritization skills

  • Experience communicating with, influencing and advising managers and leaders at all levels


  • Strong understanding of continuous improvement and measurement processes

  • Experience navigating ambiguity in fast-paced technology company

  • Data analytics skills and abilities

  • Strong change management skills, including experience training and presenting to large groups
