We are seeking a Director, HR Technology to lead and manage the technology portfolio across all of HR. The ideal candidate is someone who has managed and built strong cross-functional relationships and is a strong communicator. This is an internal facing role that will take ownership to drive technology projects and scale our HR systems and operations delivery while ensuring that all the stakeholders are involved and aligned throughout the process. This is a full-time position in People Operations located at either of our offices located in Austin, TX or Menlo Park, CA.


  • Lead as the HR Technology portfolio business owner for the design, implementation, security, compliance and maintenance of HR systems across People Organization

  • Scale HR technology teams and drive overall business vision with People Engineering and Facebook Workplace teams on the our technology strategy

  • Lead global People Organization’s systems roadmap and technology strategy to scale programs, create capacity within program teams and solve technical challenges

  • Prioritize and leverage technology solutions to meet the needs of HR (Compensation, Benefits, Global Mobility, L&D, Diversity) and more broadly across internal tools/communications

  • Build and lead Global HR knowledge management strategy and delivery

  • Work with business leaders and HR leadership across EMEA, APAC, and Americas regions to develop the systems and process roadmap to support the regions

  • Drive adoption, communication, and change management of systems changes and/or new system launches across People team

  • Optimize the use of HR tools, drive HR process optimization and standardization while balancing the business need for flexibility

  • Implement employee data and vendor security initiatives via technology solutions that support regulatory requirements and best practices for compliance

  • Partner with Finance leadership and Workforce Planning team on evolving headcount management and workforce planning processes and systems

  • Lead and influence with HR industry best practices and proven methodologies for process improvement, scalability and automation to support long-term growth

  • Coach and mentor team members, playing an active role in developing expertise

  • Implement process improvements, technology, training requirements, etc. that will enhance the employee experience and improve employee satisfaction

  • Analyze and report metrics on HR systems activities in support of strategic decision-making initiatives and for ongoing measurement and continual improvement

  • Ensure internal tools are aligned and providing accurate data to best capture customer concerns and comments

  • Accountable to the business requirements and acceptance criteria across all HR systems initiatives


  • 12+ years experience in HR technology or customer-facing technology environment

  • Experience leading and growing teams from strategy through to operational execution

  • Experience building and scaling technical teams and plan strategically

  • 3+ years experience formalizing tangible action plans to operationalize vision

  • Experience influencing at all levels of organization, driving and implementing company-wide changes

  • Proven relationship and partnership building skills

  • Ability to manage, grow, and develop individual contributors and leading and managing teams

  • Knowledge of HR best practices in the market as well as legislative and regulatory changes and experience implementing technology solutions to support compliance requirements

  • Experience with compensation, L&D, benefits, and global mobility systems implementations

  • Knowledge of HRIS systems - principles, function technology and variations

  • Demonstrated ability to lead global technical projects end to end with multiple stakeholders


  • Bachelors' degree in a related field

  • Experience with Workday, Cornerstone, Facebook Workplace, headcount management, and workforce planning systems

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Six Sigma certification (Greenbelt or Blackbelt)

  • Experience with SDLC, Agile, Scrum, and similar methodologies

  • Experience working directly with business leaders with the ability to influence change
