We’re looking for an experienced People Analytics Director to join our people analytics function. Our team uncovers data-driven insights to better attract, develop, motivate, and retain Facebook’s most important asset – our people. This role will serve as an active partner with HR and functional leaders to perform research and analyses on a broad spectrum of people issues, especially around our guidelines pertaining to remote work (as was recently discussed in our company announcement on May 21). Examples include studying the relationship between remote work on critical outcomes such employee performance, growth, engagement, diversity, and retention. You’ll also help develop and refine people processes to make an exceptional workplace even better. The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative skills, experience working across a variety of people areas, and experience leading a team of people analysts. We are looking for someone who has excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, and can effectively lead a team, from both a technical and people leadership perspective. For the latter, the ideal candidate will be a strong coach/mentor, help people leverage their strengths, ensure people are growing in their career, and contribute to the overall positive climate in the team.

Remote Work Analytics Director - Remote Work Responsibilities

  • Set the overall vision and strategy for the research approach to help shape our portfolio of people programs as they pertain to remote work

  • Apply your expertise in people research, quantitative analysis, data science and data visualization to help Facebook recruit, select, grow, and retain talent

  • See beyond the data to identify solutions that will raise the bar for all things people-related

  • Collaborate with data engineering and visualization engineers to access and manipulate data, explain data gathering requirements, and display results

  • Partner with various people teams (e.g., people growth, learning and development, global mobility, benefits, diversity) teams on people projects to identify and clarify critical people issues, deeply understand our people processes, and analyze data to drive improvements

  • Bring together Facebook-specific data and outside research to help leaders understand people issues relating to our location strategy and the impact of working remotely

  • Communicate statistical analyses and results, along with implications, to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Collaborate effectively with and mentor other team members

  • Support a team of people research scientists and analytics business partners, ensuring the team is productive, engaged, and thriving in their career

  • Guide and shape analysis of people data (ranging from descriptive analysis to multivariate statistical analysis) to meet stakeholders' needs

  • Demonstrate exceptional judgment and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive people data and business issues

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD with 8+ years of experience in a field emphasizing people research in organizations (e.g., Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Economics, Management, Policy Analysis, etc. or related degree), or MS with 12+ years of experience as above

  • 7+ years of experience conducting quantitative people research in an academic, organization and/or consulting environment, including working with stakeholders to understand and clarify their people research needs, and communicating analyses to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Experience communicating technical results to technical and non-technical audiences across all levels of an organization

  • Understanding of data visualization principles

  • Experience with data management and having an understanding of data structures

  • Experience working with HR/organizational people data (e.g. headcount, turnover, recruiting metrics and other people analytics metrics)

  • Stakeholder management skills

  • Interpersonal and collaboration skills

  • Discretion and judgment skills

  • Openness to feedback and self awareness

  • Coaching and people development skills

  • 3+ years of experience leading others on complex analytics projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing and analyzing structured and unstructured data using tools such as SQL, R, Python, SPSS, STATA or Tableau and experience troubleshooting others' analyses

  • 3+ years experience working internally (as opposed to consulting) in a medium to large organization (e.g., high-tech, financial services, healthcare, biotech, etc.)

  • 3+ years experience managing a team of quantitatively-oriented people analysts

  • Experience developing tools, conducting empirical research, practical implementation, knowledge of best practices in at least three of the following areas: employee engagement, learning and development, performance management, diversity, compensation, or retention

  • Experience with systems such as Visier

  • Experience conceiving, developing, running pilot tests, implementing, and continuously improving large-scale people processes
